ABC Music Studio specializes in working with elementary-aged children, with most students beginning piano lessons around age 7. For younger children, readiness is based on focus, learning style, and family support rather than age alone.

Yes — this is actually a core part of Ms. Karen's background. Alongside her elementary education training, she studied special education for mild-to-moderate disabilities through Indiana University's "Teaching All Learners" program, which prepared her to teach both general education and special education. She's brought that training into her piano studio, working with students across a range of learning styles and needs, and adapts her pace, communication, and teaching approach to fit each child individually.

Piano lessons are offered Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00–6:45 PM, and Thursday from 1:00–5:45 PM. All lessons are 45 minutes. Availability changes as students enroll — please complete our inquiry form for current open times.

Yes — while we have a piano available for in-person lessons at the studio, having one at home is essential for practice between lessons (and for the lesson itself if you're taking lessons virtually). You won't need to bring an instrument to in-person lessons — just come ready to play!

We recommend:

• An acoustic piano, or a digital piano with 88 weighted keys

• An attached music stand

• A proper piano bench for comfortable practice

• A sustain pedal (for digital pianos)

Yes! ABC Music Studio is an approved direct provider for Step Up for Students, serving Kissimmee and the greater Orlando area. That means eligible families can pay for piano lessons directly through their scholarship — no out-of-pocket cost and no reimbursement paperwork.

We currently accept these Step Up scholarship types: Unique Abilities (FES-UA), Private School (FES-EO/FTC), and Personalized Education Program (PEP).
